TAS SES


On Wednesday 19th May, all Australians are encouraged to wear orange in a united show of thanks for the tremendous work done and commitment shown by SES volunteers.


Held on the Wednesday of National Volunteer Week (17th – 23rd May), Wear Orange Wednesday (WOW Day) is a national day of thanks for the many Tasmania State Emergency Services (TASSES) volunteers who support their local communities during flood and storm response, road crash rescue, search and rescue, and more.


Show your support for SES volunteers by wearing a splash of orange on Wednesday, 19 May.


There are a number of ways in which your organisation can get involved show your support for the SES volunteers, including:


Lighting a building or statue in orange;


Hosting a morning or afternoon tea with a dress up in orange theme;


Advertising WOW Day in prominent areas of your workplace; or


Promoting WOW Day on your various Social media sources.

  • take a photo and tag @sestasmania with #thankyouSES #thankyouTASSES
  • change your profile picture to support WOW Day.
  • send a message of thanks to SES volunteers on social media include the #thankyouSES hashtag.
