Events on May 19th 2021 around the NT

The NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services will be visiting a primary school in both the Darwin and Alice Springs region as a result of winning a NTSES competition.

Members will be going ORANGE for WOW Day and showing off our fire trucks, boats and police dogs!

Volunteering NT and NTSES will be co-hosting an evening event in Alice Springs to say thankyou to all our hard working volunteers across the territory.

The Right Worshipful Lord Mayor of Darwin the Hon. Kon Vatskalis JP is hosting an event in Darwin to recognise SES Volunteers on WOW Day and to say thankyou for the work they do in our community.

The Darwin Waterfront will be putting on a display with the convention centre lighting up in ORANGE to celebrate WOW Day.

NT Emergency Service

The Northern Territory Emergency Service (NTES) comprises of volunteers and staff who provide a response capability within each region across the Territory.

There are approximately 300 NTES volunteers in the Territory operating from around 30 regional units. The northern region of the NT manages 20 units, consisting of 214 volunteers, while the southern region maintain 11 units, consisting of a force of 91 volunteers.

There are currently 19 permanent staff across the Territory who coordinate the NTES Volunteers from four offices: Territory Headquarters in Berrimah, Darwin; Katherine office; Tennant Creek office and Southern Region Headquarters in Alice Springs.
